The KCCB – General Secretariat is the National administrative, facilitative and coordinative arm through which the KCCB implements and co-ordinates various Pastoral programs for those matters which a faculty has been granted to the Bishop’s Conference by the Holy See. It is composed of the General Secretary,Deputy General Secretary who are the Executive Officers of the KCCB and the KCCB Staff within and outside the General Secretariat, among them the National Executive Secretaries of the Commissions and Directors of National Offices.
Mandate of the KCCB- General Secretariat
KCCB-General Secretariat (Office of the General Secretary) was established in 1961. The main purpose is to support the Bishops in the conference as an Institute and Dioceses in enhancing their capabilities for effective implementation of projects/ programmes at the grassroots. It draws its vision and mission from Christ’s mandate of KCCB “You shall be my witnesses” (Acts 1:8).
KCCB-Deputy General Secretary
The Deputy General Secretary deputise the General Secretary in all cases at all times,carries out the functions of the General Secretary when the latter is lawfully impeded,is the Director of all operations of the Secretariat,Incharge of Personal Administration,Coordination and supervision of KCCB staff,Coordinates the Welfare and Discipline of staff,Facilitates and moderates staff Communities and Committees(Liturgy and Welfare),supervises the implementation and compliance of staff policies and procedures of the Secretariat and supervises all Staff operations on day-to-day basis.
